Turo tries to keep their IPO hush hush

$ABNB's little brother for 🚘 , Turo has made a secret filing with the US Securities Exchange Commission to go public. The german startup has been in the game for more than 10 years and reached unicorn status back in '19 when it raised their $250 million series E round.This not-so-little company didn't particularly have a smooth ride since the pandemic though. Much like other startups in the transportation space, Turo laid off 30% of its workspace back in March 2020 😨.This austere move has allowed the company to reach profitability with a record $153 million in revenue in 2020. Talk about extreme measures…

Bytedance to go public

The parent company of beloved TikTok 🎵 has been busy this past year trying to finesse its way out of Chinese 🇨🇳 regulatory data security concerns. The $180 billion - that's right, billion with a b - company abandoned its plan to list in the US after Beijing doubled down on a months-long crackdown on the country's largest tech players for violations of data security and monopoly laws. Well guess what, if they ain't listing in the US, they're listing in Hong Kong. Seems like the decision is final, you can expect Bytedance to IPO on the HK stock exchange early next year.

$TSLA is poppin' but throwback to when it was droppin'

No words needed for what today is the world's most hyped stock. Sure, in hindsight $TSLA was a great buy these past two years, but back in 2017 the GOAT 🐐 Elon actually tried to sell his EV company to Apple ($AAPL) 🍏 for less than 1/10 of its current price. The meeting never took place according to Musk.

Warren Buffy joined the EV party long ago and turns out he was right (who would have guessed…)

Was this a value play? Or did our boy Buffet 🍲 make the jump to growth 10 years ago and nobody noticed? Wait, a Chinese stock? The answer to all of these questions might very well be yes. It is true, Warren buffet jumped on the EV bandwagon before it was cool, and has recently reaped a nice profit out of that decision. 💸 The Berkshire Hathaway backed company BYD Co. Ltd., one of China’s oldest car and automotive battery manufacturers, rose nearly 30% this year, and the Sage of Omaha is once again… right (surprise, surprise). 🤷🏾
