๐จ NFT sales in 2022 were pretty much the same as in the 2021 boom
The NFT market is down prettttyyy bad, but if you recall, this time last year everyone and their VC's mom was spelling 'non-fungible token' ๐ค. As the TradFi daddies banged their heads against the wall awaiting a crash, we were kinda stoked watching Paris Hilton chat apes with Jimmy Fallon ๐ฆง. Ok ok, some of us were. Despite months of declining sales and the price of the art beauties falling, the overall NFT sales (volume) nearly equalled those of 2021, according to data from DappRadar.
๐ NFT Sales for 2022 totalled around $24.7B compared to $25.1B from 2021
๐ป According to Bloomberg, through data from Dune Analytics, "trading volumes in NFTs (nonfungible tokens) have decreased 97% since the start of [2022]"

Will Bitcoin & Ethereum prices stop mirroring the stock market?
Last year, we saw crypto and stock markets move together. This is especially true as it relates to crypto and tech stocks. According to TradeView, the correlation was seen most intensely over the summer โ๏ธ, "when the correlation between bitcoin and the S&P 500 was nearly one-to-one". Despite bitcoin being designed to be a non-correlated asset, it makes sense as to why retail investors have led crypto this way ๐๐ผ:
As blockchain has gained popularity amongst the boomers ๐ด and well...throughout the world, investors have been treating crypto as they do tech stocks because blockchain unlike gold actually does provide utility. ๐ป
What will it take for crypto to leave its "not a girl, not yet a woman" phase? Mature into it's own asset class. This means greater infrastructure and technologies like yours truly (Cheres app) ๐ค to leverage crypto for practical use. One example Douglas Boneparth, CFP & president of Bone Fide Wealth, shares is: Integrating crypto wallets with iPhone wallets and being able to tap and pay just like you do with your credit card ๐ณ
Ouu,Dougie, I like where you're taking this. ๐ฅต

66% of Americans making money-related new year resolutions
New year, new...ugh. I can't even finish the sentence. Anyway, rumors (actual respectable and descent survey data) point to two-thirds of Americans making money-related new year resolutions. ๐ฅณ Hey - this is what we like to hear!
Bear with me as we get to what specifically tho cuz that part ain't too cute. The thing about ~recessions~ or ๐งธ markets is, prices are slashed and history has shown it's how the wealthy have made their money. When the S&P 500 was down ~20% for 2022, I'm out here thinkin', we're gonna be investing! Seems like we're back to personal finance tho. But hey, everyone's different and I just report the news (besides my full-time job being an investing app...).
Here's what more than half of Americans are looking to realize ๐ฎ
๐ณ Paying down credit cards: When the average interest rate on a credit card is 20%, we're seeing many us trying to pay these bb's off!
๐ Boost those emergency savings: Only 27% of Americans have 6 months of expenses saved so we're seeing an increase in interest on this one.
๐งฎ Adjust budgets: Yep. Lowering those expenses. Mmhmm.
๐ Improve credit: With raising interest rates, ppl wanna increase their credit scores to apply for lower interest rate credit cards, mortgages, loans, etc.
